A flash wedding in downtown Deland! How could we not feel the excitement in the moment? We waited for the arrival of the bridal party with eager anticipation. They arrived. They took their places. We quickly greeted them all, and once everyone was in their positions, the groom, Thomas, was now the one doing the waiting! First, Michelle's two bridesmaids walked down the alley to stand near the groomsman. It was especially windy this day, but no one minded. It only added to the romantic drama that was quickly unfolding.
As Thomas waited attentively for his beautiful bride to peak around the corner, we could sense his emotion, and see the warmth in his eyes as he saw Michelle walking towards him. Her long curled locks were blowing in the breeze; she was indeed, a beautiful bride! They quickly shared their touching vows with each other and minutes later they were pronounced husband and wife by the officiant present.
We had to know their story. Where did they meet? They met at their 30 year class reunion, and they didn't even know each other in high school! How much they must have had to reminisce! Did they know friends in common? Did they share the same teachers? Did they ever run into each other? Answers we wanted, but the light was beautiful and we had only a short time to capture their photos before they were whisked off to dinner at the Artisan in downtown Deland.
Michelle's matron of honor, Tammi, was the one who gifted this photo shoot to Thomas & Michelle. What an awesome gift!! Show up for their flash wedding, shoot the ceremony, and take some photos of the newly married couple around town. Yes, please! We were all in! What would they be like, we wondered. We weren't used to meeting our bride and groom moments before the ceremony. We were not disappointed.
Thomas & Michelle, from the moment we met you, we knew you were going to be a dream to work with! You were such naturals in front of the camera and we enjoyed every moment with you. Your love for each other was clearly evident, and we truly enjoyed preserving the emotions of the day for you to relive. Michelle, your dress was stunning, and your smile was infectious. Thomas, we loved capturing those tender moments of you and Michelle. We can tell how safe she feels in your arms.
These photographs made us feel something, and that is what we always strive for. We hope you both feel something too! Please enjoy some of our favorites below.
